Responsibilities:
If you enjoy a non-stop day and are interested in agriculture, then we can’t wait to talk to you! We are looking for an Operations Supervisor who can balance the supervision of staff with coordinating operations at a branch, as well as be ready to jump on a forklift or bobcat when needed.
Some of your key functions include:
- Uses target marketing, segmentation, and market analysis to facilitate origination to support customers and grow market share.
- Acquire new business through regular contact with current and prospective customers.
- Purchase grain delivery into company facilities and direct delivery markets. Complete all administrative functions related to these purchases including contracts, settlements and effectively using proprietary programs to document customer information.
- Schedules shipping and receiving of products and services and ensures the proper receiving of product going in or out of the locations is recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Arranges work schedules and determines production and delivery priorities, based on the orders received and on a least cost basis; performs regular coaching
- Responsible for ensuring full utilization of assets and proper cleanliness practices are continuously being followed.
- Ensures the overall appearance of the inside and outside of the premises is maintained in a professional and organized manner to promote and enhance the image of the Company.
- Drives and operates plant equipment and machinery, such as, bobcat, grain dryer and grain elevators, forklifts and/or trucks safely. This includes performing the required daily checks and proper maintenance to minimize risks, injury, and property damage, inside and/or outside the facility as required. Operates equipment (i.e., forklifts/loaders) in accordance with established safety standards and proper vehicle operation techniques.
- Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on trucks, trailers by hand or by forklift truck.
- Ensures that proper vouchers are completed on all incoming goods and verifies the correctness of receipts against bills of lading or other records, checks for shortages, identifies damaged goods, etc.
- Counts and records inventory on a monthly and annual basis.
- Provides market information and cash grain bids to patrons and establishes marketing plans for branch customers. Work to establish the company as the first choice in value-added grain marketing.
