    The Operations Supervisor role supports the Orchard Manager to coordinate, lead and supervise day to day orchard operations and activities and serve as the interim Orchard Manager in their absence. In this role you will be instrumental in developing a productive, engaging and safe workplace for all employees on farm. We currently have an opportunity available, on our Kerarbury Orchard.

Reporting to the Orchard Manager you will have the autonomy to:

  • Assist the Orchard Manager in the planning, monitoring and managing of key deliverables by achieving the long-term sustainability of the orchards and equipment.
  • Irrigation and Fertigation Management including maintenance and offering support to the existing Operations Supervisor.
  • Conduct quality control on various farm operations, including harvest, orchard and weed spraying.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure timelines and work rates are in line with budgeted operations costs.
  • Operate tractors as required.
  • Support and participate in the development of a team culture within Olam Almond Orchards.

This is a ‘hands on’ role for someone with an output focus, who is able to think on their feet, troubleshoot and lead the team.
To be considered for an interview you will have small team management experience, an understanding of agricultural operations and reasonable computer skills. You will also have the energy and drive to persevere through long seasons, reasonable business and financial acumen (or at least the willingness to learn) and excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills to drive a high-performance team culture.
