Skedaddle Inc. is hiring for an Operations Supervisor / FedEx BC (Business Contact) to lead our package delivery and fleet maintenance operations in Salina, KS. Our company is a contractor for FedEx and this role will involve overseeing the operation of 20-30 delivery routes per day, along with coordinating maintenance for our entire transportation fleet. This role will work 4 days a week on a Wednesday - Saturday schedule from 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
We’re seeking a high energy, self-starter with an upbeat, ambitious attitude for this role. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, operations manager, and process engineer with a passion for team building, operations planning, and business administration. Because we’re a smaller company, this role will support our entire operations in Salina while collaborating with our other locations on continuous improvement initiatives. During the day you’ll plan routes & employee schedules, coordinate rescues and respond to irregular situations, compile reporting on team performance, and engage drivers on safety, customer service, and productivity. You will have immediate responsibility for our operations strategy and processes, while affecting team engagement and business performance by setting a high-performance bar for others.
This role will work in a warehouse environment and will contribute to our company as an operations leader. You’ll be a key leader for our growing team, and as such the role requires an individual who is comfortable shaping our culture, our processes, and our approach to route planning in Salina. Job duties for this role will include:

  • Verifying daily shift plan and adjusting routes or driver staffing as needed to ensure that all routes are covered and able to successfully complete all deliveries.
  • Complete pre-shift vehicle inspections to verify that all vehicles comply with FedEx and DOT standards.
  • Leading start-of-day job briefing with delivery drivers, covering safety, service, and standard work topics.
  • Conducting 1-on-1 coaching with drivers on performance metrics, customer feedback, and unsafe driving events.
  • Provide positive feedback and recognition to employees based on prior day performance, achievement of milestones, or for going above & beyond.
  • Ensuring all drivers dispatch on time and load vehicles in an organized manner to ensure success while on-route.
  • Reviewing customer service complaints/disputed deliveries, along with communicating with drivers to resolve delivery errors.
  • Drive continuous improvement of business results by developing action plans and by tracking KPIs for safety, customer service, and delivery efficiency.
  • Track vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate with vendors to complete fleet maintenance activities.
  • Partner with FedEx station leadership to review prior day and current day performance concerns.
  • Complete package delivery routes as necessary to cover for team member absences.
  • Investigate and document all safety and human resource incidents. Collaborate with remote support teams via written, video, and phone communication, including with the CEO, Director of Operations, and Director of Human Resources.
  • Interview prospective candidates for package delivery driver positions. Assist with orientation, onboarding, and training of new drivers.
  • Debrief with drivers at end of day on unsafe driving events and route performance.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to pass a 5 panel drug test which includes testing for marijuana / THC / cannabis.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT Medical Examiner Certificate.
  • Prior package delivery driver experience is preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or operations preferred.

Skedaddle Inc. offers competitive compensation and benefits including:

  • Starting pay of $65,000 - $80,600 per year based on prior experience.
