Description

SCHEDULE: SUNDAY TO WEDNESDAY | 4 DAYS X 10 HOURS

Are you a strong leader with a background in street cleansing operations and a passion for making things run smoothly? Do you believe in Teamwork, Fairness and Respect (#TFR) and want to work in a role that truly makes a difference to your community?
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team at the Windwhistle Depot in Bodmin. You’ll be at the heart of keeping Cornwall’s streets clean and our operations running like clockwork. If you’ve got the drive to lead, a mind for logistics, and ambition to climb the career ladder, this could be the opportunity for you.

OUR ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven supervisory experience with team leadership skills.
  • Sound knowledge of street cleansing operations and local authority contracts.
  • A proactive attitude and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Strong communication, literacy, and IT skills (Word, Excel, Powersuite).
  • Health & safety awareness and practical understanding of large vehicle operations.
  • Ambition to develop – we’re looking for someone who sees themselves as a future Operations and Business Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Leading the daily operational planning and deployment of the street cleansing team.
  • Managing resources – from vehicles and plant to personnel and materials.
  • Overseeing staff performance, inductions, attendance, and development.
  • Ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards and company policies.
  • Supporting legal compliance with Operator Licence requirements.
  • Keeping detailed records and reporting – from logbooks to timesheets.
  • Promoting a safety-first culture and stopping unsafe behaviour in its tracks.
  • Deputising for the Operations Manager when required – and preparing to be the next one.
