Description
Description The Operations Support Coordinator supports the day-to-day processes of screening, recruiting, onboarding, and compliance of qualified CDL drivers and operational team members to meet the company’s transportation and logistics needs. This role also serves as a resource for drivers & team members, assisting with HR-related and compliance matters. Key Responsibilities: Recruiting & Onboarding: Screen applications and conduct initial phone interviews to assess driver qualifications, experience, and compatibility with company requirements. Coordinate pre-employment background checks and drug screenings to ensure timely and compliant onboarding. Support New Hire Orientation by coordinating communications and preparing onboarding materials. Assist new hires with benefits enrollment and respond to inquiries. Operations & Compliance: Assist with OSHA, DOT and FMCSA compliance documentation and recordkeeping. Maintain accurate driver qualification files (DQF) and compliance tracking. Ensure adherence to company safety policies and transportation regulations. Maintain an understanding of DOT regulations, safety requirements, and company hiring standards. Assist with Truck Inspections. Monitor and communicate violations and trends related to Hours-of-Service. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and transportation systems. Collaborate with team and management to ensure alignment with PortCity core values. Support management with reports, metrics, and data tracking. All other duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience working with applicant tracking systems (ATS). Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing high-volume recruitment efforts. Background in driver recruiting or within the transportation industry. Proficiency with TenStreet or similar driver recruitment platforms. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Work Environment: Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required.? Physical Effort: Work is physically strenuous, and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
