OPERATIONS AND SUPPORT ENGINEER

Our software is used by organizations around the world in public safety, search & rescue and humanitarian relief operations. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated engineer to join our team to help us push our products forward. As a DevOps and Support Engineer, you will:

  • Set up and maintain managed cloud applications offered by Drakontas
  • Develop and prepare deployment packages for on-premises customers
  • Monitor and mitigate security vulnerabilities for all deployment classes
  • Monitor and maintain cloud services and infrastructure utilized by Drakontas
  • Automate procedures including deployment, configuration, CI/CD, testing
  • Provide customer training and support, primarily virtual but some on-site
  • Document procedures, policies, and resources
  • Support sales team demos and trade shows
  • Troubleshoot reported problems

We are looking for someone excited to work with both people and technology and be the anchor of our operations team as we scale up to match a rapidly growing, world-wide customer base.

This position is open to remote work with occasional site visits.

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires:

  • United States citizenship
  • Reasonable ability to travel and provide on-site customer support
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations experience

Technical expertise required includes:

  • Linux System administration—Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred
  • Kubernetes and Docker/PodmanAmazon Web Services (AWS)
  • -especially EC2 and S3
  • VMWare, QEMU/KVM, and other virtualization technologies
  • Basic cybersecurity principles
  • Git and Jira

BENEFICIAL SKILLS

Additional skills desired for this role include:

  • Python and shell script programming
  • Qualys and/or similar cybersecurity tools
  • Software/network/system profiling and performance analysis
  • Quality assurance and software testing
  • Technical writing and other communication skills
