Job Description Ensures the production team is actively engaged to meet daily customer TAT whilst driving productivity and continuous improvement. Carries out normal day to day tasks and duties related to a Production or Distribution Operative role. Supports all operational and administrative functions and activities required to run an operating department of major production environment. Oversees the department or activity workflow, enhances performance through process improvement, provides effective training, while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained at all times. Acts in leadership capacity in absence of the Manager. Essential Duties: Works with the Manager and other Team Leads to manage and prioritise staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and production targets are met. Executes and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements. Agrees and implements measures and targets, monitor and control performance, report on progress and initiate corrective action as required. (e.g. Quality, on time delivery, yield, rework and waste.) Attends regular production meetings with the Manager and peers, covering for staff absence, filling gaps in resource in all areas and prioritizing work requirements and effectively communicating this to the team. Works across the production cycle to ensure the flow of work meets customers TAT and expectations. Taking immediate decisions in problem solving to ensure all units meets their deadline. Uses basic problem-solving techniques to ensure stable operation of the department Reports problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to the Manager and appropriate persons. Works closely with support staff such as Engineers, Operations and Quality to resolve issues. Identifies and supports continuous improvement efforts with the Manager Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions. Follows documented policies and procedures as designated by the company Deputies for the Manager as and when required. Ensures all production equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately in conjunction with the engineering department. Keeping daily safety checks books and documentation where necessary. Provides a positive 'can-do’ approach, whilst leading the team by example. Ensures Health and Safety compliance and programs are being followed where applicable In addition to the above the Team Lead will perform other duties as reasonably requested by the management team Acts as the department contact for all production and warehouse systems issues and questions. Researches issues, problems, or concerns and recommends solutions. Meets customer requests, deadlines, commitments, and quality standards in a timely manner. Coordinates work activities to ensure efficient completion to tasks. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must possess a proficient understanding of LSI manufacturing processes and management systems. Prioritization skills Organizational skills Problem Solving skills Customer Service skills Reading comprehension skills up to high school level Writing skills up to high school level Math skills – basic arithmetic, addition, subtraction Oral and written communication skills up to high school level Personal computing skills including PC based applications Attention to detail Ability to work safely and adhere to safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks Ability to coordinate workflow within a department Ability to work independently or collaborate in a group environment Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands Ability to meet and maintain production standards Qualifications Basic/Minimum Qualifications HS Leaving Cert or Diploma or equivalent Experience At least 3 years’ warehouse experience in a fast paced, high volume environment At least 2 years’ experience as a Team Lead At least 3 years’ experience working with a Warehouse / Production / Distribution Management System 1 year experience with PC based application Essential Physical Demands Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift. Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 20ks during the assigned shift – 1-10ks continuously and 10-15ks frequently and 16-20ks occasionally. Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 20ks to push during the assigned shift – up to 15ks frequently and up to 20ks occasionally. Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift. Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
