Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are looking for an Operations Technician to join us and take responsibility for site activities related to pile testing and instrumentation work. This involves the installation of cables, strain gauges and tubes with respect to pile testing, supporting the lowering process to ensure equipment is safe from damage. You will also be installing various sensor types for instrumentation works and understanding how to take readings from the sensors.
This is a site-based role, reporting into the Operations Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support with the installation of pile testing equipment and hardware.
  • Ensuring cabling is tidy and protected.
  • Conduct tests on sensors prior to installation to ensure 100% functionality.
  • Supporting the lowering of the pile cage and ensuring sensors, cables, hoses and tell-tale rods are all safely secured.
  • Install other geotechnical instruments as per method statements.
  • Follow strict health and safety practice on site.
  • Support Field Engineers with duties and tasks.
  • Feedback on the condition of equipment, tools and parts to ensure forward planning is in place for replacements.
  • Identify team training requirements and coordinate internal training.
  • Complete timesheets and site diaries daily to ensure submission are on time.
  • Arrange shipping/transport as and when required in a cost-effective manner.
