Position Overview: We are seeking a hands-on, people-focused Operations Trainer to support daily plant operations in a fast-paced chemical/industrial environment. This role is responsible for developing and delivering effective training that drives safe, reliable, and efficient production while strengthening team capability and culture. The successful candidate will be highly visible in the field, working alongside employees, coaching, and providing the knowledge and support necessary for both individuals and the operation to succeed. Position Responsibilities: * Develop, deliver, and maintain training programs that ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. * Actively engage with employees in the field – building relationships, providing instruction, and being a visible, approachable resource. * Foster a positive and inclusive learning culture that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. * Assess employee proficiency on production processes and equipment operation; partner with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to address gaps and strengthen reliability. * Facilitate daily shift meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to communicate priorities and reinforce safe, consistent practices. * Coach and mentor employees, providing feedback, guidance, and development opportunities to build skills and promote growth. * Support the implementation and standardization of operational best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and continuous improvement initiatives through training. * Maintain accurate training records, competency evaluations, and progress tracking for employees and crews.  Basic Qualifications: * 5+ years’ experience in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing operations, with strong knowledge of plant processes and equipment. * Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor employees at all levels. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and engage effectively with diverse teams. * Proven commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and quality standards. * Ability to develop and deliver clear, effective training materials and presentations. * Strong organizational and documentation skills, with experience maintaining training records and competency evaluations. * Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt training to meet operational needs. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools; experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus. Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles. Physical Demands - Manual dexterity; sense of touch; sense of smell; speaking clearly; hearing-speech range; hearing – all ranges; seeing, reading and comprehensions; seeing – distant/near; depth perception; color vision. While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C.
