REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Previous forklift and overhead crane experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of safe work practices involving hand tools
  • Advanced English comprehension, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret micrometers, OD tapes, and Vernier calipers, recording all line product specifications hourly at the work station and extruder
  • Complete and apply findings to the Product Specification Sheet, including print line quality, accuracy, index marks, line amps, vent, vacuum, OD1, heat temperatures, melt temperature, and melt pressure
  • Record any adjustments, variances, or problems encountered when taking specs. Notify the Supervisor or other front-line leaders if major adjustments on the line are required
  • Weigh finished goods and record hourly; calculate the running weight of total finished goods before the end of the shift
  • Enter all rejects into the MES system by piece as they come out of the line, at least once per hour. Weigh and track all crates of reject on the Operator hourly documentation
  • Proactively monitor the MES data system hourly to ensure information accuracy, including reject updates, line status, and regrind entries
  • Adjust haul-offs and perform die set adjustments to control the thickness of the pipe wall as directed by Team Lead/Supervisory staff
  • Adjust the outside diameter of the pipe (OD)
  • Build crates with a pneumatic nail gun to specifications listed on QC packaging instructions; ensure crates are tightly and accurately strapped and placed in designated areas
  • Ensure the accurate pre-cut blocks and frames are used for packaging finished and rejected products as per QC packaging instructions
  • Conduct quality checks on manufactured products and report readings to the Supervisor
  • Participate in, assist with, and train for product changeovers, which may include changing downstream elements and assisting senior operators with start-ups and shutdowns
  • Perform other duties as assigned, with the aim of acquiring the knowledge and experience necessary to advance within the company
