Operator / Civil   Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.   Position Summary:  The Equipment Operator / Mechanic is a skilled, multi-disciplinary role responsible for operating small and heavy construction equipment while performing mechanical maintenance and repairs. This position supports civil construction and maintenance projects by ensuring equipment is operated safely, maintained properly, and kept in reliable working condition. Duties and Responsibilities: * Operate small equipment including forklifts, skid steers, compact loaders, and similar machinery * Operate heavy-duty equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, and haul trucks * Perform daily pre-use inspections and routine servicing of all equipment * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues * Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life * Maintain accurate service, inspection, and repair records * Identify unsafe conditions and remove equipment from service when necessary * Support site operations including material handling, site preparation, and cleanup * Follow all safety regulations, traffic plans, and company procedures * Communicate equipment status and repair needs with supervisors and crews * Perform other job-related duties as requested by management. Qualifications: * Experience operating both small and heavy construction equipment * Mechanical background with hands-on equipment repair experience * Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician, Mechanic certification, or equivalent experience preferred * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Valid driver’s license (commercial license an asset) * Skills: * Proficiency operating a wide range of construction equipment * Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities * Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems * Strong safety awareness and attention to detail * Effective communication and teamwork skills * Physical ability to work in demanding construction environments Safety is a Core Value with our organization.
