Your skills and experience may just be the right match for this role or other opportunities! We are currently seeking a casual Operator to join the team on Cocos Island. Please note, this is not a FIFO role, we are looking for local candidates. Key responsibilities Operate and monitor process equipment including pumps, compressors etc. Perform routine inspection of equipment to ensure optimal performance Aviation refuelling (some after hours/weekends), marine bunkering and associated tasks Fuel deliveries and stock management Complete daily administrative tasks Respond to upsets/ breakdowns, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement corrective actions Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and timely problem resolution Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency response drills Qualifications About you: Reporting to the Site Coordinator, the Operator is responsible for performing day to day operational activities while supporting the Site Coordinator and other staff in the safe operation of the terminal and to ensure efficient, reliable movement of hydrocarbons. In this role you will be providing leadership of health, safety, security and environment. Qualifications and Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams Trade or technical qualifications favourable Proficient computer skills (excel and word) with experience in process control systems preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. 24/7 rotating shift roster during tanker discharge may be required Heavy vehicle operation experience (Heavy Combination preferred) Ability to obtain ASIC, MSIC and Dangerous Goods Transport by Road Licence Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Willingness to travel off island to Perth for training as required Additional Information About Viva Energy Join a team that values diversity.
