Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s 1. Fleet Monitoring & Dispatch Operations 1.1. Monitor real-time mining fleet activities using dispatch systems (e.g., Fast-Mine, or similar). 1.2. Allocate and dispatch trucks, loaders, and support equipment to optimise productivity and minimise idle time. 1.3. Maintain continuous communication with field operators to ensure adherence to operational plans. 1.4. ≥95% fleet utilisation efficiency and minimal idle time. 2. Production Optimisation 2.1. Track and analyse production metrics, including tonnage, cycle times, and equipment performance. 2.2. Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective dispatch actions to improve cycle efficiency. 2.3. Support achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. 3. Data Management & Reporting 3.1. Accurately capture and record operational data in dispatch and reporting systems. 3.2. Generate timely production, shift, and exception reports for supervisors and management. 3.3. Ensure data integrity and completeness for operational decision-making. 3.4. ≥98% data accuracy and timely submission of reports. 4. Communication & Coordination 4.1. Serve as the central communication hub between operators, supervisors, maintenance, and production teams. 4.2. Coordinate responses to operational disruptions such as breakdowns, delays, or safety incidents. 4.3. Provide clear and timely instructions to optimise workflow and minimise downtime. 4.4. Reduced response time to operational disruptions and effective coordination. 5. System & Process Compliance 5.1. Ensure compliance with dispatch procedures, operational standards, and company policies. 5.2. Monitor adherence to planned haul routes, dumping locations, and loading points. 5.3. Support continuous improvement initiatives in dispatch systems and processes. Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge • Diploma or degree in mining engineering, engineering, IT, or a related field. • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in mining operations or a dispatch/control room environment. • Experience with fleet management/dispatch systems (e.g., Fast-mine, etc.). • Strong understanding of open-pit mining operations and production processes. • Proficiency in MS Office and data management systems. Participate in health, safety, and environment training programs to understand potential hazards, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. 1.3. Report any health, safety, and environmental concerns, incidents, or near misses promptly to the designated supervisor or safety officer. 1.4. Assist in identifying workplace hazards and participate in risk assessments to minimise risks to personal health and safety. 1.5. Wear appropriate PPE as required for specific tasks or environments and ensure that it is maintained and used correctly. 1.6. Be familiar with emergency response procedures, including evacuation routes, assembly points, and first aid protocols. 1.7. Follow established safe work practices and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or illnesses. 1.8. Operate machinery, tools, and equipment safely, following the manufacturer's instructions and the AML safety guidelines. 1.9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to reduce hazards and prevent accidents. 1.9.1. Promote a culture of health and safety awareness among coworkers by encouraging safe behaviours and reporting unsafe conditions. 1.9.2. Participate in health and safety committees or meetings as required, providing input and suggestions for improving workplace safety. 1.9.3. Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities as required by company policy and regulations. Environment 1.1. Monitor and control fleet movements and haul routes to minimise environmental impacts such as dust generation, fuel wastage, and unnecessary emissions. 1.2. Ensure adherence to designated haul roads, dumping areas, and environmentally approved zones to prevent land disturbance and environmental degradation. 1.3. Track and report environmental incidents (e.g., spills, excessive idling, or dust exceedances) and coordinate timely corrective actions with field teams. 1.4. Promote fuel-efficient dispatch practices by optimising equipment allocation, reducing idle time, and improving cycle efficiency. 1.5. Support environmental compliance by ensuring operational data accuracy and collaborating with the environmental team to improve sustainable mining practices. ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) is operating inside Liberia since 2006, where we are employing approximately 1600 employees and about 1000 contractors mainly in the area of security as well as in transactional manual work like Bush cutting keeping the railway and our concession area free of natural overgrowth, as well as putting tarpaulins on the railcars etc. In Liberia we are running operations, spread over three locations, our harbour, and our Main offices in Buchanan, and the Nimba region the mines, existing of multiple mining locations at Tokadeh, Gangar and Yuelliton and a Crushing plant and rail loading facility, serviced by our own accommodation settlement in Yekepa. These locations are all connected with a 260 km Railroad, operated, and managed by AML, as per the MDA between ArcelorMittal and the government of Liberia. Currently 5 mtpa iron ore (DSO -Direct Shipping Ore) are produced, which will be phased out in the next few years and replaced with Iron Ore Concentrate. The Phase 2 project aims to increase export of Iron Ore to 15 mtpa (concentrate). This was restarted end 2020 after it was put on hold in 2014 due to Ebola outbreak in. Significant civil construction work was already well advanced when the project was put on hold. Phase 2 of the project consist of an iron ore concentrator at the mine, rehabilitation and upgrade of Rail line, and a new iron ore bulk handling terminal in the port.
