  Want to use your CDL and spend evenings at home?    The Clay County Road & Bridge department has openings on our operations staff. The operations staff is responsible for keeping our local roads safe and well-maintained. This will include duties such as:  * Pothole and road repairs * Snow and ice removal * Roadside management, such as cutting brush, clearing brush, and removing litter and debris  * Clearing debris from culverts, ditches, and basins to prevent flooding * Bridge and guardrail repairs The team works a 4-day work week, Monday thru Thursday from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, and are on call for emergency response when required.   The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a Class A or B CDL, and can obtain Tanker and HazMat endorsements within 6 months of employment. The candidate will also need to be team player who can adapt quickly and manage time effectively.   The employee will receive an annual salary along with a benefits package that includes two defined benefit retirement plans fully funded by the County and a deferred-compensation plan with a match on the first 4% contributed. We also offer three medical plans including two high deductible plans, dental, vision, two flexible spending accounts, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14 paid holidays, LTD and tuition reimbursement
Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining local road safety through pothole repairs, snow removal, and roadside management. Duties also include clearing debris from culverts and performing bridge and guardrail repairs.
