Shift available: 1 opening on First Shift - 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday 1 opening on Second Shift - 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Monday through Thursday, includes shift premium Hourly Wage: Starting at $24.50 Work Location: Fergus, Ontario, Canada About The Gund Company The Gund Company, a leader in engineered material solutions, specializes in customized electrical insulation products. With 16 global facilities, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking 2 Composites Operators to join our team. Job Summary As a Composites Operator, you will play a key role in supporting production operations, ensuring that parts are fabricated to meet work order specifications and customer requirements. This includes setting up and operating machinery that pultrudes raw materials into forms and shapes, monitoring the equipment and materials are kept stocked, as well as adhering to safety, cleanliness and quality standards. Key Responsibilities - Composites Operator Form shapes of materials using various manufacturing equipment Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims and/or stops according to specifications, using hand tools and measuring devices Package and/or skid finished materials as per work order instructions Record and maintain production data Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications - Composites Operator Required: High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational, or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools is an asset Strong basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.) Preferred: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings Work Environment - Composites Operator I This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time. Ability to lift to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

The Composites Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to fabricate parts according to work order specifications. They must also monitor equipment, maintain production data, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
