Description

Description The Operator II is responsible for advanced handling, sorting, and processing ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This is a key role in our daily operations and requires the operation of loaders, outdoor forklifts and other heavy equipment with high attention to detail and safety. Key Responsibilities Identify and sort ferrous and non-ferrous metals using visual inspection and handheld tools. Assist with non-ferrous department operations, including cutting, sorting and upgrading material. Assist with baling operations, including feeding material, clearing jams, and staging finished product. Assist with operating downstream and other heavy machinery. Operate forklifts, balers, shears, and other machinery to process materials. Identify and remove any non-recyclable or hazardous material. Maintain consistent pace and accuracy. Assist with general labor tasks as needed. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area. Requirements MA 2C & 1C License is required. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred. Basic knowledge of metal types and characteristics. High attention to detail. Good hand-eye coordination and stamina for repetitive tasks. Excellent communication skills. Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE. Forklift certification preferred. Working Conditions Work is performed in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures and weather conditions. Requires standing for long periods of time, walking on uneven ground, bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating machinery and tools with hands. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
