Description

As an Operator in Training, you will work alongside experienced Vacuum Truck Operators and be involved in providing services such as (but not limited to): hydro excavating, confined space entry, spill cleanup, line flushing, power washing, water hauling, and loading/hauling of various fluids and materials. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a safety-first, team-oriented environment while receiving mentorship and the opportunity to grow into a licensed operator role.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Willingness to obtain a Class 3A or 1A license through GFL’s training program upon successful probation
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work in all weather conditions
  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in vacuum truck operations or the industrial services field
  • Prior industrial or labour experience is an asset, but not required

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong safety-first attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn from experienced operators
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable working around heavy equipment
Responsibilities
  • Support the Vacuum Truck Services team with daily tasks and learn operation procedures
  • Assist with physically demanding fieldwork in various industrial settings
  • Maintain clear and accurate records to accompany work performed
  • Professionally represent GFL and provide exceptional service to clients
  • Participate in safety training and programs, including daily safety meetings, risk assessments, and job hazard assessments
  • Complete equipment checks and learn pre-trip inspection procedures
  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time
