THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a experienced Mobile Processing Unit (MPU)/Stemming Truck Operator at Pembroke Resource’s new project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.
Pembroke Resource’s Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023. Thiess has recently been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working a 7/7 Dayshift roster with a requirement for night shift when required (additional night shift rates applies) and reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, your duties will include:

  • Work within site-specific safety requirements
  • Safe and efficient loading of blast holes following blast design
  • Accurate recording of explosives loaded on a hole-by-hole basis
  • Ensuring equipment is inspected and fit for operation prior to use
  • Recording and reporting of defects found when operating equipment
  • Assist as directed by the Shotfirer in Charge when not required in your primary role

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Proven experience working in a similar environment preferably within coal mining
  • Ability to operate a loader, bobcat and stemming truck
  • Current Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Demonstrated compliance with safety and a good knowledge of explosive regulations
  • Valid Drivers’ Licence
  • Current Standard 1
