Come grow with us and work as a team to build the new Palmetto Gourmet Foods. Job Summary Our fast growing, production company is seeking a Machine Operator. This position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to apply their knowledge, learn new skills and work as a member of a dynamic team, in a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate for this role will have 1 plus years’ experience in the manufacturing sector, pay strong attention to detail and be committed to workplace safety. Additionally, the candidate for this position will be motivated to grow with Palmetto Gourmet Foods, building a career for years to come. Flexibility with scheduled workdays and shift preferences is required. Machine Operator Responsibilities: Responsibilities for Machine Operator * Set up machinery for operation * Start machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance * Operate machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) * Troubleshoot issues and perform minimal maintenance * Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor * Comply with all safety and health regulations for food manufacturing * Responsible for housekeeping of the general area around the machine including sweeping the work area and picking up loose items. * Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) set forth by the Federal government for the food manufacturing industry Qualifications for Machine Operator * High School Diploma or GED * Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience * Must be detail-oriented * Understanding of production and plant processes * Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement * Ability to follow written and oral instructions * Ability to work in a team * Ability to transport heavy materials, move about, and/or position self for long periods of time * Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary) * Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to maintain stock of supplies * Constantly moves product and materials up to 50 lbs around work area * Consistently work in “non-climate” controlled production environment * Ability to bend, stoop, and climb throughout the shift EEO Statement PGF provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, disability, gender identity, results of genetic testing, or service in the military.
