REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hands-on experience in laser chip bonding, wire bonding, and/or cleanroom processes.
  • Familiarity with optical or electronic measurements (e.g., IV curves, LIV, far-field, spectral analysis).
  • Ability and motivation to learn new methods and adapt quickly in a dynamic R&D environment.
  • Attention to detail and accurate data recording skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to work closely with R&D engineers.
  • Previous experience with semiconductor laser devices.
  • Knowledge of statistical data evaluation and experimental documentation.
  • Prior exposure to DFB lasers, SOAs, or photonic device testing.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, LabView, or similar).

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated R&D Operator to support experimental work in our semiconductor laser laboratories. Unlike routine production operators, this role requires a higher degree of flexibility and technical curiosity to work with complex and evolving setups. The successful candidate will contribute to measurements, sample preparation, and basic processing tasks in collaboration with R&D engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and process samples, including: Cleaving bars and chipping devices; Chip bonding on submounts using cleanroom equipment; Wire bonding of laser chips
  • Operate laboratory test benches and measurement instruments.
  • Follow R&D instructions to run experimental test series and record accurate data.
  • Document test results, observations, and process deviations.
  • Support the development and refinement of testing and quality control techniques for future volume production.
  • Collaborate with engineers on experimental setups, ensuring reliable operation and reproducibility.
  • Adhere to cleanroom and ESD handling protocols, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
