Job Details Job Location: 7500 - Skokie, IL 60077 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly Job Shift: Third Shift SUMMARY This position is a sugar solution process that makes different types of sugar mixes that is provided to the sugar shelling rooms. There is 1 operator that runs this room and is responsible for following formulas, specifications; maintain 5s, paperwork, general manufacturing practices (GMP’s), sanitations, safety, and reporting inefficiencies while keeping an accurate inventory. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Employee will report food, employee safety, and quality issues to their supervisor. Employee will follow allergen procedures as required. Employee will meet or excide efficiencies while communicating inefficiencies (down time). Employee must perform sanitation steps as trained. Employee must document all production, quality, safety and sanitation reports accurately and clearly as required. Employee must be in their department as required and ready to work at required times (tag in tag out). Employee must follow all general manufacturing practices (GMP’s). Employee will report scrap according to procedure. Employee will present continuous improvement ideas to their supervisor or department lead. Employee will work together as a team. Employee with maintain 5s by keeping his area clean and organized. Employee will turn batch order packets into supervisor upon completion of scheduled production. Employee will validate transfers and consume correctly and keep an accurate inventory. Employee will check all transfer of colors coming in on a weekly basis. Employee will weigh colors, sugar, gum, and titanium materials accurately according to the formula. Employee will report as finished all solutions accurately according to the formula. Employee will check physical to actual inventory on each shift. Employee will make sure the bill of materials (BOM) matches’ the formula. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standing on a concrete floor. Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, latex gloves, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform). Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Required to work weekends during peak season. Required to work mandatory weekends and or overtime when needed. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be well-organized with high attention to detail. Ability to successfully prioritize workload. The ability to perform basic math skills. The ability to perform basic reading skills, such as: reading labels, formulas, and directions. Knowledge of measurement, percentages, and ratios. The ability to communicate and write effectively in English. Flexible working hours for a seven day operation. Dependable and adaptable to a fast pace work environment.
Responsibilities
The operator is responsible for running the sugar solution process, following formulas and specifications, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards. They must also report inefficiencies and keep accurate inventory records.
