Generating Careers – Empowering Lifestyles With Great Opportunities and Benefits  Power Plant Operator Trainee/Laborer Minnkota Power is seeking qualified applicants for an Operator Trainee at our Milton R. Young Power Plant near Center, ND.  The Milton R. Young Station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant, providing a stable energy source for our cooperative member-owners.  The station is located 35 miles from Bismarck, North Dakota, a growing and progressive city with many recreational opportunities. This position is an entry level plant operations position which will lead to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.  Successful applicants will assist in the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. * Performs building and ground maintenance activities * Leads to membership of the plant site Fire Brigade * Utilizes hand and power tools * Operates light vehicles, tractors, skid steer loaders and similar equipment * Performs heavy manual labor * Assembles and must work off scaffolding * Will be scheduled to work overtime on nights and weekends. Certification or Associates Degree in Power or Process Technology or Industrial Technology preferred.  Must have good color vision and a valid driver's license.  Must be able to meet the physical and mental requirements of the position. Responsibilities
The operator trainee will assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of power plant equipment and facilities. Responsibilities include performing manual labor, operating heavy machinery, and participating in the site fire brigade.
