ASX Compliance is the division responsible for the supervision of market participants and issuers listed on the exchange and is at the front line of ASX’s core license obligations to monitor and enforce the market’s operating rules that helps maintain a fair, orderly, transparent and efficient market—protecting not only the interests of investors but also the reputation of Australia’s financial system as a whole. Within the division, the Transformation and Operational Performance (TOP) team is a multi-disciplinary team of risk, process, systems, and data professionals that collectively enables the ASX Compliance division to achieve its strategic outcomes. The TOP team is responsible for designing, implementing and embedding continuous improvements to its operational and risk management practices. As an Analyst, Data Management, you will work closely with the ASX Data office team in implementing ASX’s data management frameworks, and providing support to the ASX Compliance division in adopting and embedding the policies and standards defined under the framework. The role will support management in establishing effective governance and management practices to strengthen trust in our data. While the primary focus is data governance, the role will also be expected to undertake data analytics and reporting work. Your Responsibilities: Support management in developing, maintaining and implementing data governance policies, standards and procedures across data assets owned by the division Perform activities to align and deliver on divisional data strategy Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability through implementation of data handling controls Document data catalogues data lineage Implement continuous improvement initiatives to help mature data management processes, including helping train and raise awareness within the division Monitor and report data metrics that ensure data quality for data assets owned by the division Undertake analysis to help identify and assess risks in our data and recommend controls to mitigate risks, in line with enterprise risk management framework Perform and review data impact assessments for new initiatives Serve as an escalation point for data incidents & issues. Escalate key data risks and issues related to ASX's Data Governance frameworks to relevant stakeholders Collaborate with stakeholders including architects, BAs, data and analytics, legal and compliance to get specialist advice and implement solutions Work with the data science and analytics teams in undertaking data analytics and reporting work Must have Tertiary qualifications in computer science, data analytics, data science, information technology or equivalent business degree with focus on data analysis 2-3 years’ experience working in data management, data governance, data quality and / or data analytics in an operations, services or technology environment Strong Python, SQL and Excel skills to manipulate and transform data to derive meaningful insights Experience working with data visualisation tools such as Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau Demonstrated communication skills, and the ability to view and explain complex topics in simple terms, telling story with data Nice to have Working knowledge of a fully integrated exchange environment Understanding of software development / engineering practices (DevOps, Git, MLOps, etc.) Experience working with cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, etc. Results orientated – understands what levers to pull to drive outcomes in a tightly regulated but changing environment.
