Description
This position will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in overall product line operations performance through; the application of sound engineering decisions, New Product Development Design Implementation Support, LEAN Enterprise philosophies, Six Sigma technologies, and project leadership. The OPEX Manager is a member of the Plant Leadership Team with primary responsibilities to plan, coordinate, and lead the activities of the Manufacturing Engineering Group in support of the Beaver Plant's business objectives. A. B. Assume full responsibility of interrelated functions, products or activities and provide assistance to line and staff personnel in order to develop solutions for product and manufacturing problems to continually optimize the complete line of apparatus. C. Assist in training and development of personnel by identifying and leading kaizen events designed to provide continuous improvement to processes in product development, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. D. Implement methods and practices to reduce variation, with a goal of attaining Six Sigma quality levels. Understand the application of SPC and gage effective use within the factory. Lead and/or Perform root cause and corrective action analysis as required. efficiency improvement activities to optimize the use of capital and human resources F. Effectively communicate organization's vision in verbal, written, and presentation form. Develop goals from both short term objectives and plant's long term Strategic Plan for the OpEx Department. G. Design, develop, justify and guide the installation of new mfg engineering concepts, equipment, tooling, processes and systems through appropriate procedures as to optimize manufacturing cost and repeatability. I. Manage Capital procurement projects for the operation and facility, working closely with the Financial and Purchasing teams to develop short and long term capital plans and execute. J. Effectively communicate organization's vision in verbal, written, and presentation form. Develop goals from both short term objectives and plant's long term Strategic Plan for the OpEx Department. K. Coordinates the recruitment, selection, training, development, and performance reviews of subordinate staff. Support and Champion EBE and MESH categories. Provide technical support to sister locations-Evansville and Beckley- for shared product lines and manufacturing processes. Excellent knowledge of engineering problem solving and quality techniques as well as sound understanding of production, inventory, financial principles. Excellent working knowledge of Lean Enterprise, Lean manufacturing, and JIT required. Minimum 7 years work experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Lean and/or Continuous Improvement.
