Job description
The Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (OPFCC) is looking for talented and experienced Early Intervention and Prevention Practitioners to join the team. You will have a passion for working with young children, young adults and their families with extensive experience of helping young people become empowered to be proud of who they are as unique individuals.
You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people, to respond flexibly to their needs and to the priorities of the Service. You will need to be a good communicator and advocate of young people.
You will be part of a team delivering across the county and the focus of your work will be with vulnerable and at-risk groups to engage young people with preventative programmes, support personal development and learning, reduce school exclusions, harm, risk and exploitation. You will support young people in schools, in their homes and out in the community.
You will draw on the principles of integrated working and signs of safety, working creatively with partner agencies to establish and deliver effective Tier 2 support for children, young people and families in line with the stated objectives of the Prevention Strategy and ‘Early Help’ principles. You will have experience of assessing vulnerability and exploitation. Have experience of risk management and can demonstrate independent problem-solving skills.
You will be joining an established team of Early Intervention and Youth Work Practitioners who have extensive experience of holding a case load with a variety of presenting issues. You will have the ability to engage people of all ages and use this as a teachable moment to empower change. You will have proven experience of working in a range of settings and have a can-do attitude and a passion for initiating positive outcomes for people.
OPFCC staff are based at Darby House, Wellingborough but can work from Police and partner sites across the county.
