About Focus Eye Centre:
Focus Eye Centre is a specialized clinic offering advanced eye care services, including Laser Vision Correction and Cataract Surgery. With locations in Ottawa and Kingston, we are dedicated to improving patients’ vision and providing high-quality eye care. Our Ottawa location is seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Receptionist to join our front desk team.
Minimum Requirements:
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking skills
· Energetic, with a positive and professional attitude at all times
· Calm and reassuring demeanor when interacting with patients
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proficiency with computers; experience with medical scheduling software is an asset
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
· Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role is an asset
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk Duties:
· Greet and check in patients, ensuring a professional and welcoming first impression
· Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other patient inquiries
· Schedule, confirm, and adjust appointments in the clinic’s booking system
· Process payments and maintain accurate billing records
· Verify and update patient information in the electronic medical record system
Administrative & Support:
· Scan and file patient documents such as intake and surgery forms
· Make appointment confirmation calls for upcoming schedules
· Maintain a tidy and organized reception and patient waiting area
· Support the coordination of patient flow between reception, technicians, and doctors
· Manage incoming mail, packages, and faxes; distribute or task as appropriate
· Assist with stock room organization and supply management
Patient Experience:
· Provide clear instructions and information to patients regarding appointments, procedures, and forms
· Address patient concerns or direct them to the appropriate team member
· Ensure every patient interaction reflects the clinic’s commitment to exceptional care
Ophthalmic Pre-Testing:
· Training on & performing diagnostic tests on patients.
