JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometrist with daily tasks. You will assist with various clinical tasks, manage patient interactions, and ensure a smooth workflow within the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures and a passion for helping patients.

SKILLS

  • Knowledge in optical field and medical terminology is preferred
  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment while maintaining smooth work flow
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely with the optometrists and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and check-in patients for their appointment.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
  • Faxing referrals and following up with specialist offices when requested
  • Update patient records and assist with billing or insurance
  • Work with the doctor and Eye care consultants to create a smooth workflow throughout the day
  • Preform necessary pretesting ordered by the doctor. They may include but not limited to Autorefraction, Tonometry, Visual field and OCT.
  • Administer pupil dilation drops if required
  • Sanitizing and making sure pre-test room is clean at all times for patients.
