We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.  Position Overview Performs ophthalmic diagnostic procedures within the scope of Ophthalmic Assistant Certification. Performs ophthalmic photographic services and the necessary documentation for the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Experience One (1) to two (2) years of work experience under ophthalmological supervision required. Experience as an ophthalmic photographer or related experience in this area preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade 12. Introductory photography course required or an equivalent combination of photography education, training and experience. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy. Certification/Licensure/Registration Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (J.C.A.H.P.O.) Certification required. Qualifications and Skills Proficiency in computer/word processing required. Works within the Centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures. Must be mature and capable of working under minimal supervision. Must show initiative, good judgement, the ability to train, provide instruction, organize his/her work. Must be a team member working cooperatively, courteously and tactfully with patients, hospital personnel and the community. Ability to speak and understand French is preferred. Knowledge of ophthalmic pharmacology required. Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.   This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
