COMPENSATION commensurate with experience. Candidates will be required to participate in an onsite skills assessment prior to offer being made. THIS IS AN IN CLINIC (ONSITE) POSITION. Requirements Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Perform and record results of basic ocular screening and patient history including Manual refractions, Lensometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, OCTs, Amsler grids, Muscle Testing, Pupil Exams, Topography Assist in the efficient movement/flow of patients through sequence and evaluation. Medically assist the doctor through the patient examination. Scribe and document for the doctor. Prepare examination rooms to provide all needed medications, forms, consents and educational materials. Coordinate special testing needs with technicians and surgical needs with the surgical counselors. Create a sterile environment using sterile technique. Assist doctor with patient calls, pharmacy calls, etc; return all patient phone calls the same day received. Communicate all doctor instructions to patients and/or other doctors’ offices as directed; fax reports, letters, post op visits, etc., to referring doctors. Provide assistance to other clinic personnel as needed. Other duties as assigned by manager or designee Working Conditions and Environmental/Physical Demands: Standing/walking 95% of the day to perform the essential job duties. Full body rotation (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, etc.) Ability to lift at least 20lbs. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. No adverse environmental conditions expected. Supervisory Responsibility: Ophthalmic Scribe reports to Technician Supervisor or designee No direct Reports Position/Type/ Expected Hours of Work: · This is a full-time position and core hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. · Potential for evening and weekend hours as required. Travel: · Travel to multiple locations is required. Qualifications: Minimum of one year experience working as an ophthalmic scribe Ability to navigate EHR software system Working knowledge of ophthalmic and medication terminology, equipment and CPT and ICD-10 coding Working knowledge of basic Ocular anatomy Certification preferred by not required Skills and Abilities: Attention to detail and accuracy Proven quality experience as demonstrated through historical work/achievements Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills Highly developed organizational skills; comfortable working under time sensitive deadlines Ability to manage multiple priorities Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, and Word Skills and Abilities: · Attention to detail and accuracy · Proven quality experience as demonstrated through historical work/achievements · Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills · Highly developed organizational skills; comfortable working under time sensitive deadlines · Ability to manage multiple priorities · Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, and Word Benefits: Scrub Reimbursement Program Recognition Programs Medical, Dental, Vision 401k and match Paid time off (PTO) AND 8 paid holidays
