FTE: 1.000000 Standard Hours: 40.00 Shift: 1st Shift Details: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, at the new Mequon Ophthalmology location. Training will occur at the Froedtert Hospital - Eye Institute from date of hire until the Mequon location opens in January 2026. Main work location will be Mequon (once open) with an understanding that travel to the Froedtert Hospital - Eye Institute may be necessary at times. Job Summary: Responsible for performing a variety of ocular examinations and procedures assisting the provider with patient care and the daily operating functions of the department. Assists in maintaining accurate records. Coordinates the timely flow of patients through the physician's schedule to maintain efficient patient care. Assists in educational and technical training sessions of other staff members based upon their expected level of competency. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE: Has job knowledge to be able to pass the competencies for this level and complete all of the job responsibilities, generally attained with a minimum of 18 months of optometry or ophthalmology experience. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. LICENSURE: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. SPECIAL SKILLS: Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively with others in problem identification and resolution.
