Description JOB SUMMARY Assist Physician with patient examination and treatment, responsible for patient histories, routine diagnostic procedures, as well as some clerical duties. RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitate patient care. Preliminary work-up: history, chief complaint, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil reactions, scope of vision, color vision, muscle movement, angle assessment Tonometry (Applanation, Tonopen, Icare). Diagnostic testing: OCT, Visual Fields, Fundus Photos. Administer drops under physician supervision. Take and explain tests, procedures, treatments, and diagnoses to patients. Maintain and stock all exam rooms. Clean and maintain all instruments. Assist physician in minor office surgery. Return and answer patient phone calls as needed. Requirements Technical Required Skills Visual Acuity Refractions (ideally experience refracting keratoconus patients) Tonometry-Tonopen Pachymetry-Ultrasound Dilation Testing (Pentacam, iTrace, OCT, Lipiscan, Schirmers, Tear Lab, lensometer) EHR system – ModMed QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an ophthalmic/optometric practice. CITI certification to work on clinical trials at the acceptance of a job offer Experience in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Reliability and dependability. Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office.
