Description At Eye Specialist of Napa Valley, we have an immediate opening for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing dynamic team! Ideally, you will have at least 2-3 years of experience as a technician in a thriving ophthalmology practice and willing to also scribe. Ophthalmic certification is a big plus but not required! The successful candidate will: Have experience in a fast-paced clinic environment. Be efficient and accurate at interviewing patients and documenting histories. Be able to ensure charts are updated and accurate. Demonstrate working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications. Have previous experience with HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting. Be proficient with EMR computer programs. Able to check patients' vision and identify chief complaints. IOP Know about Various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals) Requirements 1+ years of experience as an Ophthalmology Technician Ophthalmology scribing experience a BIG plus! Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred Have strong hospitality skills and patient care focus Have good communication skills, including verbal and written. Be able to work well with others as a team Be able to multitask and work well under pressure. Have a high school diploma or GED Salary determination is based on skills, experience, and training.
