Description $1,000 Hiring Bonus! We are looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician Lead to join our team! At Sight360, we are building the region’s premier destination for comprehensive vision care. We are a team of over 130 optometrists, ophthalmologists, surgeons, opticians, and eye care professionals serving more than 100,000 patients across 15 different locations in the Greater Tampa Bay area. From routine eye exams and optical retail, to medical optometry, ophthalmology, and surgical procedures, our patients experience end-to-end personalized care and service. Hiring Bonus is paid over 10 pay periods. To retain bonus candidate must remain employed for 6 months. Requirements The Ophthalmic Technician Lead is responsible for providing lead support to technicians, scheduling the technicians according to clinic flow, ensuring all techs are well-trained in their job duties, and addressing patient and doctor concerns relating to the technician’s performance, skills and competencies. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Scheduling technicians according to clinic flow including potentially filling in for technicians when the patient flow requires additional support. Working with desk supervisor, desk staff, physicians and office manager to ensure an efficient clinic workflow is maintained Assigning cleaning duties, side work, and any non-workup duties as required within the clinic. Ensuring all current techs are fully trained and capable of performing their job duties. Auditing charts and performing time studies to ensure techs are meeting expectations. Assisting in hiring new technicians Training new techs on procedure and protocol. Training techs on correct EMR usage using HIPPA standards. Implementing all site-specific policies including attendance, dress code, ethics codes, etc. Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained. Educating technicians on proper equipment usage and maintenance. Implementing continual training for technicians Coordinating with the physicians regarding technician issues or new physician needs. Resolving patient concerns, complaints or questions. Maintaining certifications and working with new technicians to become certified. Ordering clinic supplies Coordinating repairs or replacements or damaged equipment. Ensuring MiPs are being met and documentation supports coding Supervisory Responsibility: Position reports to Practice Manager Provides lead/supervisory support to Ophthalmic Technicians, Scribes and Diagnostic Techs Qualifications: Certification is required. (COA required) Minimal of five (5) years in Ophthalmology is required. Management experience is preferred Skills and Abilities: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Reliability Professional demeanor with ability to work in sometimes stressful environment Shows initiative Superior organizational skills Ability to effectively multitask Attentive to detail and accuracy. Ability to perform all duties required of the technicians including manifest refractions, Goldmann applanation, and all site-specific testing.
