Description Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician (Morristown Area) - Up to 29 Hours Retina Associates of Northwest NJ Job Title: Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician Job Overview: Retina Associates of Northwest NJ is an established busy Ophthalmology / Retina Practice in the Morristown area looking for a Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician. Experience is a plus but not mandatory. We will train the right candidate in all aspects of the job. Technicians must be compassionate, detail-oriented team players with great people skills and a desire to grow in a friendly practice. As the Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician your primary job function is to work with the Ophthalmologist to provide exceptional patient care by gathering all patient information necessary to complete a proper diagnosis. You will perform the initial patient examinations, Ophthalmic testing procedures as well as assist the physician as directed. Your Top priority will be to ensure the patient receives the highest level of care as our main goal is to make the patient experience as exemplary as possible. Job Responsibilities: • Interview patients and document ocular and medical histories. • Perform preliminary testing ie: visual acuity, administer eye drops, visual fields, color vision and tonometry. • Perform diagnostic testing including OCT, B scans, ophthalmic fundus photos and fluorescein angiography (will train). • Assist in minor surgery procedures & laser surgery. • Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic and in the imaging rooms, working collaboratively with other clinical staff. • EMR scribing. • Perform clinical and administrative duties as directed.
