Our established multi-specialty Ophthalmology group is seeking a skilled professional to join our friendly and dedicated team. POSITION SUMMARY: We are a busy, patient-focused ophthalmology practice in Hamilton, NJ seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Ophthalmic Technician (OT) works closely with the ophthalmologist to provide exceptional patient care by gathering accurate patient information and performing diagnostic testing to support proper diagnosis and treatment. Your Impact: Conduct initial patient examinations and obtain accurate medical histories. Perform diagnostic testing, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Visual Field (VF), Lenstar, and Optos imaging Administer ophthalmic medications (eye drops) as directed Accurately document physician findings in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) (Nextech Pro) Manage prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies via phone, fax, or EMR Address patient questions and concerns in a professional and compassionate manner Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment Assist front desk staff with patient calls and scheduling as needed Perform additional duties as assigned What You'll Bring/Requirements: A passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence. Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician. Knowledge of medical office procedures. Ability to perform indirect activities, administrative tasks and any other assigned duties that contribute to the efficient & high-quality performance of the medical practice. High School Diploma or GED. Strong attendance and punctuality Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and part of a team Education and Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required High school diploma or equivalent required Experience with EMR systems required (Nextech Pro preferred) Proven ability to obtain accurate patient histories Bonus Points: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification.
