Description
Job Purpose: Job Responsibilities: Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications: A Folder Gluer Machine Operator sets up, operates, and maintains machinery to fold and glue paperboard or corrugated sheets into finished boxes, ensuring high-speed production and quality standards. Key duties include adjusting machine components, troubleshooting jams, inspecting for defects, and managing team members, typically requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience with packaging equipment. Key Responsibilities Machine Setup: Accurately set up and adjust folder-gluer machines (e.g., Bobst, Heidelberg) for various jobs, including adjusting carriers, belts, hooks, and glue systems (cold/hot melt). Operation & Efficiency: Operate equipment at maximum speed to meet daily production goals, maintaining consistent output and quality. Quality Control: Continuously inspect finished cartons for correct folding, accurate alignment, and proper glue adhesion, minimizing waste and defects. Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance (cleaning, oiling) and troubleshoot or repair mechanical issues during production runs. Team Leadership: Supervise 1-2 helpers (feeders/packers), ensuring proper loading and accurate case packing. Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs, including job counts, waste tracking, and machine maintenance records. Job Qualifications & Requirements Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, specifically with folder-gluer equipment. Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude to adjust machinery and troubleshoot. Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is usually required.
