SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This is work providing practical nursing services to developmentally disabled individuals at Tacachale. Work is performed under the direction and general supervisoon of a registered nurse, and is reveiwed for compliance, standars and procedures. Works in conjunction with the registered nurse to assure continuity of care and aherence to ICF/IDD standards. Prepares, administers and documents medications and treatments as per nursing policy and procedure. Maintains documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures. Observes, records and reports physical and behavioral responses to medication and treatment. Provides emergency nursing service within the scope of nursing practice. Assists the registered nurse and/or Licensed Independent Practitioner in clinics, diagnostic tests and physical examinations. Conduct an initial assessment and provide appropriate treatment as soon as possible after being notified or becoming aware of an injury or possible injury. Complete Section II of the DDC Incident Report Form in accordance with IM process. Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, special clinics and nursing committees as assigned. Performs related duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS A valid Florida Driver’s License. If hired with an out-of-state license a valid Florida State driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days. Corrective Lenses Restricted license are acceptable provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating a state vehicle. Must be willing to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency. Must be willing to work beyond the normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels and meet the needs of the Agency. Must maintain active practical nurse license that allows practical nursing services in the State of Florida. Must maintain certification in Prevention and Safety Strategies, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Must complete annual health screening. Must be willing and able to provide “hands-on” assistance to residents with activities of daily living to include: personal hygiene and grooming, such as bathing, toileting, and dressing. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs with or without accommodations. This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035. This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
