We offer full scope Optometry services with special focus on the latest technology custom eyewear including Everyday Specs, Sunglasses and Contact Lens for all lifestyles.
JOB TITLE AND TYPE: Sales & Optical Assistant or Casual Sales & Optical Dispenser – Casual (1 to 3 days per week including Saturday’s)
LOCATION: Adrenaline Optometry Terrigal
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Managing Optometrist & Practice Manager

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 6 months of retail / customer service experience within an optometry practice or sunglass store.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical skills encompassing the use of software applications such as Microsoft packages, email communication, keyboard shortcuts, copy and paste functions, database management, customer relationship management systems, and online ordering platforms
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment as well autonomously under limited supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to build genuine and supportive relationships with patients, networks and colleagues
  • Sound knowledge and practical application in mathematics
  • Experience with EFTPOS or Hicaps machine
  • Great sense of fashion with eyewear and colour to suit patient needs
  • Willingness to work in a team with a positive can-do attitude

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated person with exceptional customer service skills to join our team on a casual basis. The suitable candidate must demonstrate outstanding client experience from start to finish. We are in our third year of operations and would like to expand our team.
This is a hybrid role, and you would be responsible of various of tasks and duties from opening to closing of the day.
Previous experience as an Optical Assistant or Dispenser is required. You will also showcase your communication abilities, demonstrating the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team, use digital devices and equipment, and excel in adhering to the values upheld by Adrenaline Optometry.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service and general practice retail skills ie greeting customers, answering questions, assist customers choose frames, discuss lenses options etc
  • Dispensing duties to ensure the very best patient experience ie measure PD and heights and processing all patient orders
  • Online orders from online store - encompassing receiving orders, processing orders, fulfilling orders, coordinating shipping for orders, and delivering orders to the post office.
  • Take payment electronically or via cash
  • Coordinate customer requests and emails
  • Maintain and care for stock
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the practice including overall presentation and cleanliness
  • Complete administration duties including, booking patient appointments, ordering contact lenses, liaising with patients with their orders and follow up appointments, package orders etc
  • You will work to all practice policies and healthcare guidelines
  • Work on Saturdays (every alternate Saturday) or as mutually agreed upon.
