Requirements The Area Retail Operations Manager is responsible for planning and leading the activities of all locations within the assigned area of operation, including full profit and loss responsibility, while acting within the scope of company objectives and policies to accomplish area goals. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: For assigned area: In partnership with Director of Optical Operations and Optical Lead, actively participate in the talent selection process for team. Work with Optical Leads to manage daily staffing requirements including call-outs Prepare and delivers performance reviews for direct reports. Work with Director of Optical Operations, Optical Leads and HR to manage performance and/or employee relations issues. Support Director of Optical Operations with coordinating training on merchandising standards, product flow, inventory flexing and signage to ensure consistency of brand experience. Partner with Director of Optical Operations, Director of Marketing on the development of store specific presentations and merchandise concepts. Partner with Director of Operations and Optical Lead to identify business opportunities and create action plans to drive results. Coach and direct team to meet standards for: Patient Service Daily merchandise presentation and replenishment Pricing: Ad sets, price changes and markdown presentation Maintain daily and weekly sales reports to track, analyze and communicate business results to Director of Optical Operations. Manage appointment fill rate, capture rate and no-show rate Communicate merchandise and product performance opportunities/observations to Director of Optical Operations Manage patient complaints Work with call center to respond to patient inquiries Manage follow-up, recalls and confirming Execute all company policies, procedures, processes as required and ensures full compliance of all operational procedures and paperwork as well as federal, state and local laws and regulations. Supervisory Responsibility: Retail Area Manager reports to the Director of Optical Operations Supervise Optical Leads and Eye Care Professionals on a daily basis through activities including (but not restricted to) interviewing, motivating, delegating, promoting, counseling and coaching, performance appraisals, and terminating. Supervise location through coaching and motivating employees to ensure quality patient experience. Position/Type/ Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position and core hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Potential for evening and weekend hours as required. Travel: 75% Travel on a monthly basis to various locations to support and supervise team. Position will have a base location to support when not in the field. Qualifications: 2 to 4 years of retail management experience required. Optical management experience preferred. Proven ability to conduct effective assessment of employees and retail operation. Current/active Optician License required Skills and Abilities: Ability to lead and develop team. Ability to work well with all levels of management, build partnerships and influence teams. Highly organized and able to adapt to quickly changing priorities. Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
