This is a part time position with the opportunity for full time. Experience working in optical, an Optician License or Certified Optometric Assistant Certificate is preferred. The ideal candidate for this position must also be outgoing, personable and be eager to help customers at any time. Primary duties include: dispensing eyewear, adjustments and repairs, managing the showroom and lens ordering. Other duties will include booking appointments, answering telephone inquiries plus any other duties required.
This is a permanent position. Short-term or summer applications not accepted. We offer competitive wages and unbelievable scheduling flexibility for the right individual.
In this role, you will be the heart of our showroom, guiding clients through their eyewear journey from start to finish. You’ll provide expert advice, personalized service, and thoughtful recommendations on frames, sunglasses, and lenses tailored to each client’s lifestyle and needs.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in optical, an Optician License or Certified Optometric Assistant Certificate is preferred.
  • Retail sales experience is essential, with a focus on customer interaction and satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with laboratory processes related to lens preparation is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care will be beneficial but not necessary.
  • Experience with retail management or sales strategies is preferred.

    Pay: From $17.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in selecting eyewear that complements their personal style and vision needs by providing professional optical advice, including lens and frame options.
  • Educate clients on lens options, coatings, and other optical products available for their individual needs.
  • Take accurate optical measurements to ensure proper fittings.
  • Process orders and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Maintain showroom presentation and uphold brand standards.
  • Lead and manage daily operations, including booking appointment, answering emails and phone calls (etc).
  • Conduct fittings and adjustments for eyewear when dispensing to ensure proper comfort and functionality.
  • Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
  • Process orders accurately, including verifying prescriptions and managing inventory.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Ensuring orders are processing smoothly & in a timely manner.
