Pay Range (Annual):
$133,000.00 - $247,000.00
At Infinera, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. Your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for equity grants, discretionary bonuses, or commission payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company’s incentive plans, the Company’s financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.

This position will provide product design and development leadership within the Optical Engineering Team focused on the next generation transponder/muxponder product family. As a senior technical contributor, you will work closely with x-functional teams including HW, DSP, FW, and SW, to optimize client and line side optics performance. Responsibilities include full integration of the line modules with performance optimization and quality assurance, performing design validation/testing to verify module function and system performance, translating system requirements to detailed line module specifications along with peer engineering groups, and interfacing with vendors to source optical components and modules that meet product requirements. Additionally, you will mentor and guide other engineers in the department.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related majors
  • Must have 3 or more years of recent experience in Coherent Optical Communication (Transceivers/Transponders)
  • Must have 5+ years of optical engineering development experience
  • Must be willing to work in the office 5 days a week
  • Deep technical competency in Coherent Optical Communication technology, Digital Signal Processing, and high-speed optical signal generation and detection
  • Familiarity with standard industry design validation processes and product life cycle
  • Familiarity with optical communication systems and linear and nonlinear impairments and tradeoff, such as crosstalk, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, PMD, SPM, XPM, FWM, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good English communication skills
  • Good people skills, team player
