We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optical Lab Technician to join our team. As the Lab Technician, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the lab, glazing optical frames, dealing with customer prescriptions whilst maintaining high customer service.
The current working hours are Monday to Friday; 9:30 am to 6:00 pm or 11:00 am to 7:30 pm

REQUIREMENTS

• 1-2 years experience in a lab to be able to confidently carry out tasks
• Full understanding of glazing and lab
• Proven experience across all aspects of glazing and frame handing
• Experience working within an optical laboratory environment
• Good knowledge of machinery used in the optical business

• Accurately reading lens and frame specifications from prescriptions that are received
• Assemble and mount lenses into frames and complete all glazing
• Safely operating glazing and surfacing machinery
• Operate optical machines and equipment
• Determine and select lenses needed as required for orders
• Receiving, storing and controlling stock of all optical frames, sunglasses and required equipment
• Liaise with customers regarding orders and queries
• Maintaining the lab equipment and tools
• Complete necessary minor repairs and adjustments
• Working towards agreed timeframes to meet customer expectations
• Dealing with customer queries regarding prescriptions, resolving any complaints in an efficient and professional manner
• Assisting with the movement of stock in the building, as well as picking and packaging items
• Performing other ad hoc duties within the distribution team as required
