YOUR ROLE AT A GLANCE

The Optical Laboratory Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep of our lab’s machinery. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every piece of equipment operates seamlessly, facilitating the installation of new technologies, and maintaining essential parts inventories.

MAIN TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to secure the continuous safe and efficient operation of machinery. Innovate and apply improvements for better performance; safely handle tools.
  • Identify and rectify mechanical failures and troubles in lab systems. Refurbish and replace equipment and subassemblies when required. Fit minor components and settings.
  • Implement new machinery and conduct operator training on maintenance and operations; participate actively in learning sessions to broaden your knowledge about machinery.
  • Ensure the tool, equipment, and parts inventory are sufficient by managing purchase orders efficiently.
  • Engage in general building maintenance tasks.
  • Leverage technology to log work details and track work orders systematically.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, peers, and supervisors, offering timely feedback and resolving maintenance issues collaboratively.
  • Participate in projects that reengineer and refashion lab and infrastructure frameworks for optimized efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations on specific project objectives to move our vision forward.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe working environment.
  • Follow company and manufacturer protocols diligently, ensuring adherence to safety standards and safeguarding confidential information.
  • Embrace teamwork and maintain a cooperative attitude to achieve shared goals and deadlines with efficacy.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members and continue to expand personal expertise through training.
  • Additional responsibilities may be undertaken as required.
