OPTICAL PRACTICE MANAGER

An exciting position has become available for an Optical Practice Manager based in our Grimsby practice - Robert Marshall Eyecare. This position is perfect for someone who wants to gain more management experience and be part of a team at an established opticians. The role will be based across 4 days per week approximately 32hrs.
As our optical practice manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, including managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, handling administrative tasks and maintaining a high standard of eye care services while driving sales within the practice; essentially acting as the leader and key decision-maker in the optical business. Previous management and optical experience is essential for this role.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Staff Management:
  • Training and supervising optical staff including Optometrists, Opticians and Optical Advisors.
  • Performance evaluations and staff development
  • Creating and managing staff rotas
  • Build a strong relationship with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Patient Care and Operations:
  • Scheduling patient appointments and managing appointment flow
  • Ensuring patients receive excellent customer service
  • Handling patient concerns and complaints
  • Financial Management:
  • Analysing sales data to identify opportunities for growth
  • Managing inventory of optical frames and lenses
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards
  • Managing practice documentation and records
  • Ordering supplies and equipment
  • Sales and Marketing:
  • Implementing marketing strategies to attract new patients
  • Promoting optical products and services

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in optical dispensing and knowledge of eye care practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
