We are a busy, independent Optometrist practice in Cardiff, looking for a reliable and organised Optical Receptionist/Administrator to join our team. This is a customer-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys providing excellent service and supporting the smooth running of the practice.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in IT systems, along with good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
  • A flexible and dependable approach to work.

Previous experience in optics or a healthcare administration role would be an advantage, but full training will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the first point of contact for patients, both in person and over the phone.
  • Managing appointment bookings, amendments, and confirmations using our computer system.
  • Responding to emails and patient enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and handling administrative paperwork.
  • Supporting colleagues with general administrative tasks to ensure the practice runs efficiently.
  • Complying with confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection requirements at all times.
