Victoria Vision Eye Care is a small, locally-owned optometry clinic where patient care is the priority. We have been helping patients in downtown Victoria have clear vision and healthy eyes since 1981. Our doctors and staff work together to inform a diverse range of patients about their eye health, and provide guidance in selecting eyewear and other treatments to enable lifelong eye health. Our goals are excellence in caring for our patients, caring for each other and caring for the community we serve.
We are looking an experienced optician, optical dispenser, or optometric assistant to provide guidance to patients selecting eyeglasses, contact lenses, sunglasses and other treatments based on the doctor’s prescription and the patient’s lifestyle.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience dispensing single vision and multifocal eyeglasses
  • Proficiency with tools and methods for eyeglass adjustment and repair
  • Experience in consultative (needs-based) sales, with a proven record of success
  • An eye for fashion and style
  • General proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Strong problem-solving and customer relationship skills
  • Aptitude for basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions)
  • Attention to detail
    -Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with patients

Responsibilities
  • Assisting doctors with pre-exam testing, as well as additional testing like peripheral vision testing and retinal imaging
    -Assessing patient needs and recommending frame and lens selections based on appearance, lifestyle and prescription requirements
  • Educating patients about types of lenses and lens enhancements
  • Properly fitting new glasses
  • Adjusting and repairing of frames as needed
  • Answering telephones, booking and confirmation of appointments
