The ideal candidate will be skilled in working courteously and professionally with patients both in person and over the phone, as well as collaborating effectively with providers and fellow team members. This position plays a vital role in presenting eyewear solutions tailored to each patient’s visual needs while ensuring an outstanding overall experience. This position offers a competitive hourly rate plus commission, providing opportunities for increased earnings based on performance and patient care excellence. As an Optician, you will fit and dispense eyewear using the latest frame and lens materials and technologies, guide patients in frame selection for optimal fit, fashion, and function, and support daily operations to help the office run smoothly. Key Responsibilities Include: Interpreting prescriptions written by providers Designing and adapting lenses and frames based on prescriptions, vocational needs, and lifestyle considerations Assisting patients with the selection of frames, lenses, treatments, coatings, and tints, with a strong understanding of product options and benefits Ensuring proper eyewear fit through precise eye and facial measurements Repairing, adjusting, and troubleshooting eyewear while advising patients on necessary repairs or replacements Educating patients on proper eyewear and contact lens care Dispensing eyeglasses while ensuring proper fit and complete patient satisfaction Maintaining optical displays and overall appearance of the optical area Managing optical inventory, including frames, lenses, supplies, pricing, and promotions Coordinating with vision care suppliers and sales representatives to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment Preparing and processing orders for in-house fabrication or outside labs Understanding front desk operations, scheduling, billing, and insurance specifications as needed Supporting other office functions and performing additional duties as assigned Requirements Ability to work a flexible schedule, some Saturdays and past 5pm. Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations.
