Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

To ensure that all slicing equipment on the line is operated correctly and efficiently and improve the equipment performance and maximise product output whilst maintaining product quality.
Supporting key operators to adjust the slicer to the required and most beneficial position for optimising throughput, yield and reduce weight rejects and ensuring the slicer constantly and consistently is running to a high standard by proactively identifying issues and taking action to resolve them in a timely manner. Perform on behalf of the Key Operator when required by leading, supporting, and advising the line team through good communications and following company procedures to ensure quality and quantity levels are to the required standard on the slicer and other equipment.
To have good housekeeping and health and safety standards throughout the line, whilst also installing this into the other members of the line team to promote the correct behaviours within the team and individuals.
Embrace and encourage Continuous improvement and ‘Lean’ manufacturing techniques both individually and as a team, to operate with maximum output whilst maintaining the highest quality and standards.

MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Setting up the slicer to achieve the correct quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Training new Slicer to ensure full competency and completing training with existing Slicers to form a better understanding of optimization give away & yields.
  • Proactively support Slicing Operators to enable them to complete their tasks on the lines with greater efficiency.
  • Identify issues with poor quality in raw material and support key Operators in challenging and managing quality.
  • Monitor slicing data and identify changes that need to be made. have responsibility for the implementation of any changes and drive changes to be made to the line with the key Operator.
  • Attend relevant meetings as required and liaise with all relevant senior managers, teams, and departments.
  • Have responsibility for factory giveaway, actively implementing techniques to reduce this.
  • Ensure all machines and lines runs to optimum efficiency by investigating Proactively identify and resolve any issues on the line and its machines to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensure understanding of KPIs to enable you to work towards these as both an individual and encouraging the line team to meet these with support from the Key Operator.
  • Endeavour to keep waste levels to an absolute minimum and continuously work to reduce these levels.
  • Cleaning and maintaining machinery and work areas to be at a high standard at all times.
  • You must have full understanding of the sites Food safety, HACCP, QA and Hygiene Standards whilst also carrying out safety checks or risks assessments when required.
  • Attend daily meetings when required.
  • Understand the customer standards and specifications for each product to ensure the line always minimizes any complaints or rejections by maintaining the quality of product and packaging.
  • Maintain a constant understanding of changes and adaptations made to the equipment or machinery on the line. Ensure any changes are cascaded to individuals in the team where appropriate.
  • Provide support to other departments and teams when required to create the ‘One Team’ environment as outlined in our leadership principles.
