We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Optical Assistant to join our team. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our patients and assisting with various administrative and sales tasks. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk
- Assist with electronic medical records (EMR) management, including data entry and retrieval
- Utilize Epic software for patient registration, insurance verification, and billing purposes
- Provide support to the optometrist during patient examinations
- Assist with pediatric eye care, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for young patients
- Educate patients on optical products, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses
- Conduct sales transactions for eyewear and accessories
- Maintain inventory of optical products and supplies
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the optical area
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Front desk experience in a medical or healthcare setting will be an asset
- Optical Industry is aa asset.
- Strong sales skills with a customer-oriented approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
