JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our optometrists and ensure a positive experience for our patients. You will be responsible for assisting with patient care, managing front desk operations, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient service. We are willing to train on the job, and we will cover the cost of tuition for the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant program.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems; experience with Optosys is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to optometry.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care.
  • Experience in retail sales or optical environments is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of pediatrics is beneficial for assisting younger patients.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and appointments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team while providing exceptional service to patients.
